All new hire service technicians, regardless of experience, attends four weeks of training. The first two weeks are spent in classroom learning basic repair and maintenance of the various types of gaming devices and software. Upon successful completion of the classroom training, the new technician is then assigned to a field training technician for a two week period. The employee works in the field with the field training technician and shows his/her ability to apply in the field what was learned in the classroom. The employee has to successfully meet identified goals and objectives before being assigned to a specific shift and shop supervisor. Throughout the service technician’s employment, they receive advanced classroom training to work towards becoming a Sr. Lead Service Technician. In addition, the training coordinator on a monthly basis distributes a “Tech Bulletin” which identifies a specific game repair or maintenance issue and explains how to handle this situation if encountered in the field. The service technicians also receive a daily briefing at the start of their shift to learn of any changes in gaming equipment, programs, applicable policies, procedures and gaming standards. We now have communications specialists that have an advanced skill level in all aspects of communication protocol for the gaming devices. This includes set-up and programming of the XP Controller, printer, Bill Dispenser, all the way to the mainframe computer at United Coin.
